She’s held positions at traditional graphic design studios, an international consumer product company, an ad agency, a large interactive firm, and was Director of Creative Services at Universal Music Group (Nashville) before founding the ST8MNT Brand Agency with husband, Josh Newman, in 2004.
Under her direction, ST8MNT has become the premier brand development design team behind Taylor Swift’s ‘1989,’ ‘Red,’ and ‘Speak Now’ Album, Website, Merch, and Tour. As of 2016, the ‘1989’ album alone has sold over 9.5 million copies worldwide; and the 1989 World Tour was the the highest grossing tour in the world in 2015 with over 250 million in revenue.
Bethany has been honored with the Dove Award for Best Recorded Packaging of the Year, as well as many Addys and AIGA awards, and she has been published in Print Magazine’s Regional Design Annual.
She serves as the Marketing and Communication Chair on the board of the Entrepreneurs Organization (Nashville) – a global business network with 157 chapters (in 48 countries).
She is a Summa Cum Laude graduate from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. Born in Memphis, Bethany currently lives in Franklin, Tennessee with husband Josh Newman and their two children.
Joshua Sage Newman
Executive Creative Director & Founder
Josh architects and executes creative approaches for identity, integrated marketing, advertising and promotional communication materials, and brand campaigns. As Executive CD, he leads the creative vision and direction of ST8MNT.READ MORE
Josh worked as an In-House Designer, Art Director and later as an Executive Producer of music videos for the Christian Music Group of EMI Records/Nashville. He re-branded one of Christian Music’s most successful compilation brands – the WOW series – which produced sales of over $250 million and sold more than 14 million CDs – before his departure from EMI Records (in 2004) to found the ST8MNT Brand Agency with his wife, Bethany.
Josh has consulted, designed, animated and directed for Country Music Television, (CMT) Great American Country, (GAC) the National Geographic Channel, pretty much every major record label, and multiple Major League Baseball teams, including the Atlanta Braves.
At ST8MNT, Josh has served as Creative Director on extensive digital and identity design work for brands that include Reba, BNA Wine Group, and Salesforce among others – plus a whole host of Live Nation Music Festivals and more.
Josh’s creative work has been honored repeatedly over the years with Dove Awards, Addys, AIGA Awards, and with Promax/DBA, Mark and Beacon Awards.
Josh is a University of Tennessee, Knoxville graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. A Nashville native, He now lives in Franklin, Tennessee with his wife Bethany and their two children.

Josh joined ST8MNT in 2015 with an extensive portfolio of well-travelled experience. He began his career in Houston, Texas with stints at Compaq/Hewlett-Packard; and at Halliburton.
Later, Josh founded and sold two boutique design firms – Pinebox Creative and Cora Syndicate – before serving as VP at the Paramore Agency and working on the Backyard Burger and Ebonite brands. This was followed up by a Creative Director position at the BOHAN Agency working on the Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Shoney’s accounts, and later he moved to the RedPepper Agency to take on a Digital Creative Director role on national brands that include Deloitte, Husqvarna Viking / Singer Sewing, Off Broadway Shoes.
Josh also served as Design Director at AndCulture, a full-on UX/Digital agency, where he focused on research, design, and user experience on large web application and mobile projects for OUYA Gaming Console, Pinnacle Health Systems, and Kids Discover.
Josh has been an instrumental presence in multiple award-winning collaborations. He’s won the Photography Masters Cup (fashion), IPA and PDN Awards, and he’s been published in Web Design Index.
He is a graduate of the University of Advancing Technology in Tempe, Arizona where he studied Multimedia and Digital Animation. Born in Phoenix, Arizona, Josh now lives in Hendersonville, TN with wife Kelly Cole and their son, Hudson.

Scott brings 20+ years of experience and innovation as a digital media executive. He co-founded digital music startup PassAlong Networks, an early digital music download service (first partners were eBay and Proctor and Gamble). Scott was responsible for business development, strategy and label relations (he licensed all 3 (then 5) major label deals personally.
Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President of Strategy and New Media at EMI’s Gospel division where he co-created and ran the Wow brand (20+ platinum albums, $200MM+ in sales) and led innovation online with the creation of the first streaming service (Streamwaves) and first download service (LiquidAudio/DownloadiItFirst.com).
For the past 7 years he has been running The Next Agency serving clients such as Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me, The Ron Blue Institute at Indiana Wesleyan University, MII and EGM. He has also been acting CEO of fashion brand Kayce Hughes where he grew the company 400% in three years, took the company from being in the red to in the black, and opened up new channels of growth including retail boutiques.
Scott is a graduate of Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Originally from Greenwich, CT, he currently lives in Green Hills, TN with his wife Kayce and their seven children.
As the Production Manager at ST8MNT, Alex plans out and schedules all of the work that comes in and then delegates it to the creative team. She makes sure all projects remain on budget and are delivered on time. She is also the point-person on all vendor logistics and provides client estimates on that aspect of the job.READ MORE
Alex was formerly a project manager at Clay Puddle Creative and at Pavkov Contracting, Inc. – a South Carolina-based construction company with a client list that includes: United Parcel Service, Bosch, Exide and Interlake – where she managed large-scale projects for the Dept. of Homeland Security US Coast Guard (CEU Miami), the National Park Services, and the US Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration.
Alex maintains communication priorities with all clients and keeps scope parameters aligned throughout the evolution of every project. She joined ST8MNT in 2014 and the creative collaborations on the Live Nation music festival sites (Watershed, Faster Horses, Lake Shake, and Farmborough) stand out among her favorite projects.
Alex is a San Diego State University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government. She also attended the Florence University of the Arts in Italy where her course work focused on international studies and Middle East and European politics.
Originally from Akron, Ohio, Alex currently lives in the 12 South area of Nashville, TN with partner Drew Hoffman.
Kate Balch is an Account Manager at ST8MNT brand development team. She works in direct and daily contact with each and every client to guide their needs, to direct their requirements, and to make sure all of their objectives are met throughout the entire lifecycle of the creative process.READ MORE
Kate’s marketing career began at Tymel Promotional Solutions, a boutique marketing firm based out Ambler, Pennsylvania. She later advanced to Director of Marketing and Leasing Operations for the Pennmark Management Company in Plymouth Meeting, PA where she was an instrumental presence in the material design and implementation of client-based marketing solutions.
Most recently she served as a Digital Strategist at Bytes of Knowledge in Nashville, TN working hand-in-hand with clients to develop their digital strategies and enhance their own customer relationships. Her clients there have included Logan’s Roadhouse, The NBC Television Network, Sprouts Children’s Network and Vanderbilt University.
Kate is a graduate of Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication and minors in both Fine Arts and Spanish. Originally from Philadelphia, PA, she currently lives in South Nashville with her husband Chris and their two dogs – Rigby and Opie.
Harold focuses on messaging and communication strategies; press outreach and media alignment; on social and digital engagement; and/or on cultivating ST8MNT’s ongoing creative relationships in the community.READ MORE
Harold joined ST8MNT in 2016, in a consultant capacity, as we explore expanded capabilities to our client services and the possibility of a social content development partnership.
Harold’s most recent work involved day-to-day coordination with social content development teams at both the FOX Broadcasting Company and NETFLIX – through the digital management and brand development for Actor/Producer JOHN STAMOS – in support of both the hit FOX television show GRANDFATHERED and the blockbuster NETFLIX series release of FULLER HOUSE.
Recent projects include content development for the 2015 NASHVILLE FILM FESTIVAL (NaFF), creative consultation for both country music icon TIM MCGRAW and Country Music performer KRISTIAN BUSH, (of the multi-platinum selling country duo SUGARLAND) as well as online deployment and digital brand development for performers: LARKIN POE, HOLLY WILLIAMS and DIAMOND CARTER.
His public relations accounts have included: THIERRY MUGLER, JULIE NEWMAR, NICK EGAN, HYLO ENTERTAINMENT, ELIAS ARTS, HOLLYWOOD RECORDS, WALT DISNEY PARKS AND RESORTS, The ELIZABETH TAYLOR AIDS FOUNDATION and TELEMUNDO / LIBERTY MEDIA / SONY PICTURES ENTERTAINMENT, among others.
Harold is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art, Communication Technology and Political Science. He lives in East Nashville, Tennessee with wife Shannon Casey and their dog, Lotus.
As an Art Director at ST8MNT, Aaron Rayburn focuses on the user interface and user experience (UI/UX) aspect of digital brand development. He works directly with the Creative Directors on the visual brand essence and directs the fundamental thinking that then drives the execution.
Aaron is a former Studio Artist at The Buntin Group. Also, he was a graphic designer at TBWA\Chiat\Day where he worked on ad campaigns for the Infiniti brand of luxury automobiles. His freelance work includes projects for Disney’s Lyric Street Records on entertainment brands Love and Theft and Bucky Covington.
Aaron joined ST8MNT in 2009. His collaborative contributions include key art, show packages, and press kit DVDs for the National Geographic Channel; digital work on Goo Goo Clusters; and, identity, packaging, and print on the Trail Mix Red & White Blends of wine brands.
He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. Originally from Paris, Tennessee, Aaron now lives in West Nashville with wife Lauren Rayburn and their daughters, Eyre and Esme.
Austin Hale is an Art Director at ST8MNT. His role is to oversee all of the designers in their daily tasks, create the over-arching vision of a project, inspire the creativity around it, and serve as a liaison between the design team and the creative director.READ MORE
Austin joined ST8MNT in 2009 (directly out of college) and has provided essential artistic contributions to nearly every collaborative project at the agency for the past 7 years. Among the many, he’s applied art direction in identity, packaging and print for the BNA Wine Group of top shelf wines from California; to multiple aspects of the ongoing brand development work for Nossi College of Art in Nashville; and, to illustrative merchandise and print work for singer and songwriter, Jerrod Neimann.
Austin is a Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and a minor in Illustration. Originally from Knoxville, TN, he currently lives in Nolensville, TN with wife Erin Hale, their 3-year old daughter, Elanor, and their dog, Hera.
Ben joined the ST8MNT team in 2015 (right out of college) upon his arrival in Nashville. His first project at the agency was to design ‘Genuine: The Alan Jackson Story’ boxset, a 25th anniversary collection of his greatest hits.
Ben was formerly a designer at Division-D, a digital ad agency in Missouri. He interned in the Student Design Center – a part of the Missouri Students Association – where he designed a multitude of printed material for incoming students with print reach totals of 16,000 units per semester.
Ben is a University of Missouri – Columbia (Mizzou) graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design. Originally from Southern Illinois, he is currently a Brentwood, Tennessee resident.
Parker Foote approaches brand development through graphic design, web interactive design, and print. As a Designer at ST8MNT, his focus is constantly aimed at how people connect with design and how they interact digitally with brands.READ MORE
He designed previously at Papyrus Design, a boutique stationary studio in Melbourne, Australia where he explored the boundaries of print production processes and gained both a fundamental and a practical understanding how typography conveys meaning and expression.
Parker joined the ST8MNT team in 2015. He is responsible for the visual identity of The Vault brand development; for publication and print work for television’s So You Think You Can Dance tour book; and the visual identity and packaging for Willow Bed.
Parker was a student recipient of an Australian Graphic Design Association Award(AGDA) for digital design.
He is a graduate of Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth, Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Strategic Communications. His post-graduate work was completed at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) where he earned a Master of Arts degree in Communication Design.
Originally from Texas, Parker now lives in Mount Juliet, Tennessee with wife Jade Foote.

He previously worked as an intern at Arc Content in Brentwood, Tennessee before joining ST8MNT five months ago as an Operations Intern.
Nafis attended the University of Miami where he minored in chemistry and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He studied in Italy at the American University of Rome and later interned at Columbia University in New York City.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Nafis was raised in Memphis. He currently lives in East Nashville, Tennessee.
