John Connor Run!

ART Post share icon

Ferrofluid defined is a fluid containing particles subject to magnetic suspension. This material is used to seal harddrives, as a contrast agent for magnetic imaging in medicine, and apparently to create the terminator army. Artist Sachiko Kodama has gone to great lengths to further demonstrate this material’s ability to be manipulated by using it as a substrate for liquid sculpture, not of the terminator kind. Brilliantly choreographed, ferrofluid is poured over an iron core form and guided through a series of programmed magnetic pulses that cause it to transform repeatedly. In this case, the transformations were designed according to beat position, chord progression and melody. Watch this incredible routine and let the possibilities run rampant! Seriously though, Run John Connor, the T-1000 is out to get you.
